I am committed to empowering people to make satisfying and wise real estate choices.
My passion for real estate started in my 20s when I bought my first investment property, a multi-unit building in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood. After five years in banking with Northern Trust, Harris Bank, and then Ocean Tomo, an Intellectual Property Merchant Bank, I became a full-time property owner/manager. The recession made quality buildings affordable, enabling me to purchase, renovate and lease additional buildings for my portfolio. Through this experience, I learned what it takes to build equity and create cash flow.
Along the way, I discovered I really enjoyed working with people and helping them find their ideal home. With a solid background in property management and leasing, I spent the next four years in leasing operations for two of downtown Chicago’s finest luxury apartment towers.
When I transitioned into brokerage, I set a goal of raising the bar for broker-provided service and value in the Chicago residential and investment real estate arena. For that reason, I was ecstatic to discover that Engel & Völkers had opened in Chicago. A leader in the global luxury real estate market, it aligns with my very high standards and my recognition that we live in a global community. While I’m a Chicago native, it has been my privilege to live in Spain, Ecuador, France, and Italy. The experience of immersing myself in other cultures has had a profound impact on my ability to effectively serve clients of different backgrounds and perspectives.
Another major transformative experience was achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest level attainable in the Boy Scouts of America. Through this experience, I learned that integrity is neither optional nor an obstacle, but rather the foundation to everything in life including how I serve my clients. My goal is to listen and understand the unique goals of each client, create a clear plan to make them a reality, and provide a high level of value along the way. To my personal satisfaction, we often maintain our relationship after closing, and I enjoy serving as a resource well beyond closing. Many clients consult with me matters such as renovation, maintenance, construction, tenant screening, property management best practices, and more.
I graduated from Georgetown University with a double major in Government and Spanish, am fluent in Spanish, and understand Italian. I did a service project with Sant’Egidio in Rome feeding and clothing those in need and volunteered as Service Chair for the Georgetown Alumni Association. When I am not working or renovating my buildings, I enjoy outdoor adventures, spending time with my new nephew and niece, cooking, rock climbing, and surfing. I also read extensively about real estate, world affairs, and U.S. history.
The ability to effectively assist people of all backgrounds is a bedrock principle of my work. Value matters in any language. I look forward to working with you.
