Engel & Völkers Chicago

Not many people can say that residential real estate is in their genes, but that is true in my case. I come from a rich family heritage in Chicago real estate that runs through four generations going all the way back to my maternal great, great grandfather, industrialist and civic leader N.K. Fairbank. After graduating from Skidmore College with a degree in Business Administration, I worked in publishing and chain retail store development and then in graphic design and marketing for a Chicago-based manufacturing company. Finally, the pull to residential sales prevailed and I successfully transitioned into the business, earning the distinction of rookie of the year after my first year. After selling on the city’s northside for 15 years, I became the managing broker of Truepad, a consumer search engine similar to Zillow but dedicated to the brokerage community. In this role, I managed all legal and regulatory aspects of the business and oversaw referrals to our agent clients. I am excited to be the Managing Broker for Engel & Völkers flagship office in East Lincoln Park. Coincidently, when I was young, we lived right around the corner and so the neighborhood feels like home. More importantly, I believe that in an industry where the trend has been to build bigger and bigger offices, there are real estate professionals like me who would prefer to be in a collaborative, boutique environment. When my grandfather, Louis C. Sudler Sr., co-founded Sudler & Company in 1927, that was his model. Sudler was a premier firm in Chicago development, property management and brokerage for 62 years, committed to the highest standards of service, quality and ethics. Another family tradition is a passion for all things Chicago, coupled with a strong sense of civic and moral responsibility. For over 100 years, our family has been integrally involved in many of the city’s iconic cultural institutions including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Lincoln Park Zoo, and several museums. I love that one of the core tenants of Engel & Völkers is a commitment to giving back to the community and I am excited to see our advisors embrace that commitment.
